Community Guidelines
Last Updated: September 11, 2026
Where these apply
These guidelines apply everywhere you interact with other members inside the StrongHER by AFJ app: the community feed, comments, journal posts you share to the community, StrongHER Circles, and direct messages. They are part of our Terms of Use. Many members here are working on their relationship with food, and some are in binge recovery. Keep that in mind in everything you post.
The rules
- Be kind. Encourage, don't judge. Disagree without being cruel.
- No harassment, hate or threats. No bullying, name-calling, hateful or discriminatory language, or threats of any kind — in public or in direct messages.
- No sexual content. Nothing sexually explicit, and nothing involving minors, ever.
- Don't promote disordered eating or extreme dieting. No pro-eating-disorder content, no glorifying restriction, purging, fasting for weight loss, or "tips" for eating less. This is a binge-recovery-aware community. Share your struggles, not instructions.
- No medical claims. Don't present supplements, diets or routines as treatments or cures, and don't give other members medical advice.
- No spam or selling. No advertising, affiliate links, recruiting, or unsolicited promotion — including in direct messages.
- Protect other people's privacy. Never share another member's name, contact details, location, photos, messages, weigh-ins or check-ins outside the App, and don't screenshot Circle content.
- Be yourself. No impersonating another person, a coach, or our team, and no misleading usernames or display names.
- Post only your own photos. Upload photos of yourself, or photos you have the right to share. Never post someone else's photo without her consent, and never upload anyone but yourself as a progress photo.
StrongHER Circles
Circles are private spaces. What members share there — weigh-ins, reflections, check-ins, wins and setbacks — stays there. Hosts and co-hosts may remove anyone who breaks these rules from their Circle, and we may take action across the whole app.
How to report
Every post and comment has a Report option in its menu, and every member profile has Report in its options. Tap it, choose a reason, and add a note if you want. Reports are confidential; the person you report is not told who reported them. If a direct message is the problem, block the sender (below) and email us. If something needs urgent attention, you can also email [email protected].
How to block
Open a member's profile and choose Block. A blocked member can no longer send you direct messages, and her posts, comments and notifications disappear from your feed. You can unblock at any time in Settings → Blocked Accounts.
What happens next
Our moderators review every report and act within 24 hours. Depending on what happened, we may remove the content, issue a warning, suspend the account, or permanently ban the member. Serious violations — threats, sexual content, content involving minors, or promoting self-harm — result in immediate removal and a ban. We keep the email, username and display name of banned accounts so the ban sticks.
Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, email [email protected] from the address on your account and tell us what was removed or why you were suspended. A person will look at it and reply.
Getting help
If you are struggling, you are not alone. The Alliance for Eating Disorders Helpline is 1-866-662-1235. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by call or text at 988. In an emergency, call 911.
These guidelines work together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. We may update them; the date above tells you when.
